Leaders Involved in Formation & Training (L.I.F.T.) is a community leadership training program shared by Dimmitt, Hart, and Nazareth. LIFT was organized by Joann Starr Ph.D., MSW,
Darryl Birkenfeld, Ph.D. , and Rev. Ken Keller. MSW, as a strategic response to the need in Castro County for continuing development of new leaders.
From September 2005 to March 2006, citizens from throughout the County attended nine evening sessions that alternated between the three communities. Those attending learned about styles and leadership personalities, as well effective group dynamics, knowledge about the region, strategic planning, coping with conflict and change, visioning for the future and achieving community consensus. Castro County businesses, organizations and churches are encouraged to offer scholarships to employees and members who would be willing to join the up-coming course. A new L.I.F.T. class is being formed for Fall 2006-Spring 2007, and you can receive more information by calling 938-2529.
